Ho-Hum

I am deleting part of my previous post. What I said was a hastily written and an emotionally charged piece of work and needs to be gone. It is not going bring anything uplifting to my blog. I need to let the issue drop.

Yes I ran the marathon and no it did not go well...at all. Details and pics to come at a more decent hour. How's that for uplifting? ;)

Oh and some pics taken of me recently has been a reminder that I have gained weight while marathon training. Time to get my eating habits in gear again.

I'm sorry you're so dissapointed with the race. I know it doesn't help much, but seriously, to be able to run your goal splits and feel good the last 6, is a feat in and of itself! I tanked it then. I remember telling the guy next to me at mile 18 "now the race begins". Try to find some good in yesterday, you did finish a marathon after all :)

Be easy on yourself! You accomplished something that very few people can or do! You had no control over your belly issues - that stuff happens. You pushed through it and made it to the end, close to what you were hoping time-wise even with unscheduled stops. I'm not sure that very many people get a "perfect" race, it's just the way things go. Smile, friend, and know that you did something you used to think impossible, and that's what's important.

I agree with Leslie and Heidi, stuff happens, and I think you dealt with it beautifully. Hey, I don't have the guts or the drive to even consider a full marathon at this point in my life. You are a wonderful women. Try not to be too hard on yourself. Think back to where you were a few years ago, and where you are now all that you have accomplished. You are awesome Jessica!
